A
steam excursion on the main line approaching Stoney Creek
gives railfans an opportunity to view the spectacular scenery
in the foothills of Mt. Vincent.

A
litter further along the line, just past Stoney Creek,
the train passes below Mt. Vincent.

Now
past Mt. Vincent and MARS Valley, the same excursion
train runs through the rural village of Barhill.
The
British Columbia Railway Royal Hudson makes its way around
the layout, passing the largest yard on the layout.

Historic
Ten Wheeler D4g 487 sits on display at Bow City while
a diesel-powered short passenger excursion train waits its turn
to leave. The diesel is number 7091, a restored Alco S2 switcher.

A couple of Budd end domes from The Canadian are
stored on one of the spurs at Bow City East.

The
Bow City station sees many trains a day pass by. These trains
are both passenger and freight. In the background sits the tall
Trump Tower, whose value has decreased significantly of late.

The
village of Chinook still has a couple of working grain
elevators. The Saskatchewan grain car looks quite new while
the Government of Canada car has seen better days. The black
bear on top of the Canada hopper is quite prototypical as RHJ
Rail has a photo of a real bear on a real grain hopper.

Also
at Chinook, the third car waiting at the grain elevators
is a CP Rail grain hopper, which also has seen better days.

A picturesque
lake on a late fall evening shows a number of campers and canoeists
enjoying the location. Chinook Lake is situated between
the main lines of the layout so the campers do not always get
a good night's sleep!

A
fire hall next to a church does not always make for a quiet
environment, especially when there is a funeral in progress.
To add to the stress, a honky-tonk bar is located across the
street from the church and often blares loud music in the evening.
When the church bells ring, the fire alarm goes off and the
Honky Tonk bar is busy, there can be quite a racket! This scene
is at the northern end of Bow City.

At Bow
City, a passenger excursion train is about ready to take
a group of railfans (and their reluctant partners) on a tour
of the Calgary yard, ending up at either Bow City East
or MARS Valley.

In
downtown Bow City there is a movie theatre playing a
popular film.
